AKJ Improve IT Infrastructure

AKJ is pleased to announce that we have successfully completed the upgrade of our IT network to include the introduction of a new Terminal Server Farm which will provide our Bureau Billing customers with a range of new features as well as improved reliability and resilience. The new system also features improvements to printing when users are connected to our servers.

In order to transfer our Bureau customers across to the new Terminal Server Farm, end users must ensure that their PC’s are updated to Microsoft Service Pack 3 on XP Operating Systems or Service Pack 1 on Vista (both of these are free of charge updates from Microsoft and include a wide range of security updates). We will be transferring our customers onto the new system during May and June, and your account manager will be in touch shortly regarding the change.

Key Features and Benefits

  • The technology is based on Microsoft’s Windows 2008 software.
  • Highly resilient and reliable (should a server fail, others will still be available to provide cover).
  • Improved performance utilising more powerful and better balanced server hardware.
  • Remote applications appear to be local applications as they run at a faster speed.
  • Improved printer support.
