BT Raises Line Rental - Information Release

Introduction

BT Retail (BTR) will be changing several of their line rental prices from the 1st November which will increase the line rental costs by almost 5%.

BTR are also changing the value of the discounts available via the various line discount schemes (e.g. Access Line Credit, Exchange Line Credit, BT Accumulate). This BT Retail has stated is to ensure that those customers who commit their line rentals to BTR are not penalised. E.g. the starting % for the Exchange line credit scheme is rising from 5% to 9%.

AKJ have reviewed the information available and believe that the customers who will be affected most by this change, and who will see their costs rise, are those who have lines with BTR but:

What are the key changes?

 

1: PSTN Lines

The prices per quarter will increase as follows:
PSTN from £41.15 to £43.11

2: ISDN30 Channels

The prices per quarter will increase as follows:
ISDN30 without DDI quota from £45.58 to £47.47
ISDN30 with DDI quota from £52.08 to £54.57

 

3: ISDN2 Lines

The prices per quarter will increase as follows:
ISDN2 Low Start (1 year term) £93.00 to £97.47
ISDN2 Start Up (1year term) £142.00 to £148.80

4. Access Line Credit Scheme

The Access Line Credit Scheme will no longer allow the rental on Featurelines to be included as eligible spend and the % discounts increase.

£80000 - £149999.99 +2% +2%
£150000 - £249999.99 +2% +2%
£250000 - £499999.99 +2% +1%

£1M+ +1% +1%

 

5: Other Changes

A number of other changes have been announced full details can be obtained from the BT Pricing Manual online.

Timetable

BT will introduce the changes for all customers from the 1st November 2007.
